Every AI ad generator's pricing page shows a number that is not the number. The plan price buys credits, the credits buy generations, and a generation is not an ad you would actually put money behind. So we lined up six of these tools on nothing but their own published pricing, did the division they hope you will not do, and asked the question the category avoids: when is the honest answer that a small brand's money does not belong in paid ads at all?

How this comparison works: published evidence only
Every fact here comes from each tool's own published pricing page or documentation, linked as we go, checked August 2026. We have not run campaigns through these tools and will not pretend otherwise: a vendor's own price sheet is the one document they cannot argue with. Two well-known names got cut by that rule. Arcads publishes no pricing page at all, and Madgicx's pricing page says "see price inside the app", so for both there is nothing public to compare.
Our own interest, declared before the table rather than after it. We build Synthopia, and it is deliberately not on the list, because it is not an ad generator: it composes whole organic campaigns from a brand's own photos, in that brand's voice, where these six generate ads from a URL, a template or a stock actor. Different job, different money. It also means the unit problem this piece is about is not a jab at anyone. Every tool in the category sells a number that needs dividing before it means anything, ours included, and we do that division on ourselves further down.
The six generators, side by side
All figures are from each vendor's own site, checked August 2026.

What one usable ad really costs, by each vendor's own numbers
Do the division the pricing pages leave to you. Creatify's free plan states 10 credits make "2 video ads or 20 image ads", so a video ad is about 5 credits and an image ad about half a credit; at Starter's $39 for 100 credits, that is roughly $1.95 a video ad and $0.20 an image ad. Predis.ai's credit table prices an image at 15 credits and standard video at 200 credits per 8 seconds; on Core's $19 for 1,300 credits, that is about $0.22 an image and $2.92 for 8 seconds of video. Pencil Core is a flat $14 for 50 generations, so $0.28 each. AdCreative.ai's Starter is $39 for 10 credits: $3.90 a credit, the steepest per-attempt price on the table.
Now the part nobody publishes: those are prices per attempt. If one generation in three survives your own taste, and for most owners that is generous, multiply everything by three before you call it the cost of an ad.
Hold ours to the same test. Synthopia sells credits too, ten cents each, 400 of them for $39 a month on Spark. What changes is the unit they buy: a three-minute brief comes back as a composed campaign, a 15-second reel with stills, a carousel and the copy for every channel, already cut per platform, rather than one more attempt at one more banner. Cheaper per attempt is not the claim. Fewer attempts is.
