Every tool in this space calls itself an AI Instagram post generator, and they are not even the same species. Some write captions for photos you already have. Some invent images from a text prompt. A couple actually build the whole post. If you have sat with these pricing pages at 11pm trying to decide, you know the plan names blur together fast. Here is the field sorted properly, with one question that does most of the sorting for you.

How this shortlist was made (published evidence, no pay-to-rank)
Nothing here is ranked by affiliate payout and nobody paid to appear. Every fact comes from each tool's own published pricing page or documentation, linked throughout, checked August 2026. We never claim to have run a competitor's product; we compare what the vendors themselves publish. Where a vendor's price could not be verified on their own page at check time, we left the number out rather than quote someone else's guess. Prices in this category change often, so treat the checked date as part of every figure.

What a post actually costs, from their own pricing math
This is division on published numbers, not a benchmark. Predis prices its Core plan at $19 a month for 1,300 credits, which Predis itself sizes at roughly 86 AI images: about 22 cents an AI image if you use everything. Ocoya's Bronze is $15 for 100 credits, so 15 cents a credit. Later's Starter includes 5 AI credits a month at $18.75 billed yearly; if the AI is why you are buying, that is $3.75 per AI assist, though the plan is really priced as a planner. SocialBee's $29 Bootstrap includes what its page calls unlimited AI content generation, for text. Buffer's Essentials is $5 per channel per month with the AI Assistant on every plan, including free. Synthopia runs on prepaid credits at 1 credit = $0.10; Spark is $39 for 400 credits, and one brief spends them on a full campaign rather than a single image. The lesson: a cheap caption is not a cheap post if the visual still costs you an afternoon.
