Synthopia vs Fastlane

Both put an AI creator on your product. Fastlane makes trend-led short video; Synthopia makes the whole campaign.

Fastlane calls itself Tinder for marketing: it turns trending short videos into content for your product, you swipe left or right on what it generates, and it schedules the keepers to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn. Its homepage advertises more than a thousand hyper-realistic AI UGC characters. Synthopia also makes UGC videos with a generated creator, so this is not a page about real people against synthetic ones. The difference is scope and source. Fastlane is short-form video first, built on trends and a large character library. Synthopia builds the whole campaign (posts, reels, Meta ads, UGC videos and Google Business posts) from your real product photos, and nothing posts until you approve it.

The swipe loop is real product thinking

Credit where due: Fastlane's swipe loop is a smart answer to the real problem that owners cannot art-direct every video. Generate plenty, keep the good ones, schedule them, done. Its Growth plan at $49 a month lists 500 AI studio credits, more than 500 AI UGC characters, 100 human UGC videos and three workspaces, per its pricing page (checked September 2026). If you need a constant stream of trend-shaped short video, that loop earns its money.

Trends age; occasions come back

A trend-riding video is strongest the week the trend peaks and invisible a month later. That is fine when content is disposable by design. A lot of a brand's best content works differently: the dish, the garment, the object photographed well keeps selling for as long as it is on the menu or the shelf. Synthopia builds around occasions rather than trends (the long weekend, a launch, Ramadan, a slow Tuesday), with a separate calendar for each of its four markets, because those come back every year and a campaign for them can be planned before the day arrives.

Both of us make AI UGC. Here is how it differs

Fastlane's character library is far bigger than anything we offer: 25 AI UGC characters on Starter, more than 500 on Growth, and human UGC videos on the upper plans. If choosing between many faces is how you test, that is a real advantage. Synthopia's UGC video is one piece of a campaign: a generated, lip-synced creator with your real product in a fifteen-second ad, labelled as AI by default. The labelling question applies to both tools. TikTok's published policy requires realistic AI-generated content to be labelled, and Meta applies AI labels to detected synthetic media, so any realistic AI creator, theirs or ours, should be disclosed. We add the label by default.

Where we simply do different jobs

Fastlane is short-form video first. Synthopia's campaign is the whole set: reels and UGC videos, yes, but also posts, carousels, Meta ad creative and Google Business posts, each cut for a channel you switched on and built to run together. If your marketing is one platform's For You page, their focus beats our breadth. If your brand lives across Instagram, Facebook, Google Business and the rest at once, one brief that covers them is the point.

Pick Fastlane if

  • Short-form video volume on TikTok, Reels, Shorts and LinkedIn is the whole job
  • You want hundreds of AI characters to choose from, or a library of human UGC videos
  • Trending formats are how your audience finds you
  • You want a free plan to try the loop before spending anything
  • The swipe-to-pick loop matches how fast you want to move

Pick Synthopia if

  • You need the whole campaign (posts, reels, Meta ads, UGC videos, Google Business posts), not short-form video alone
  • The product on screen has to come from your real photos
  • You'd rather plan around the occasions in your market than chase trend half-lives
  • You want AI creators labelled by default and nothing posted until you approve it

Questions

What does Fastlane cost?

Its pricing page, checked 13 September 2026, lists a free plan with 10 AI Studio credits and no credit card; Starter at $29 a month with 250 AI studio credits and 25 AI UGC characters; Growth at $49 with 500 credits, more than 500 AI UGC characters, 100 human UGC videos and three workspaces; and Pro at $149 with 2,000 credits, more than 2,000 human UGC videos and ten workspaces. Verify on usefastlane.ai before buying; the product is young and moving fast.

Does Synthopia make AI UGC videos too?

Yes. A UGC video puts a generated, lip-synced creator with your real product in a fifteen-second ad, labelled as AI by default, and it comes as one piece of a campaign. What Synthopia does not have is Fastlane's large library of characters to swipe through, so if choosing among hundreds of faces matters to you, Fastlane is the better tool for that job.

Do AI UGC videos need to be labelled as AI?

Realistic AI-generated people fall under TikTok's published labelling policy, and Meta applies AI labels to detected synthetic media. Whether a specific video triggers a label depends on how realistic it reads, and the responsibility sits with the advertiser. That is true of any AI creator, including the one in a Synthopia UGC video, which is why ours is labelled as AI by default.

Is Fastlane's free plan enough to run a brand on?

Its free plan lists 10 AI Studio credits and limited content: enough to try the loop, not to run a calendar. That is fair; our free first campaign is also for judging output, not for running a brand indefinitely. Both tools expect the real workload to be paid.

Can I use both?

Genuinely, yes. Some brands will want Fastlane for trend-format experiments on TikTok while Synthopia carries the campaigns everywhere else. They compete less than this page's URL implies; the choice is about which job is bigger for you.
