Synthopia vs Later
Later schedules what you already made. Making it is the part that takes your week.
Later is one of the best-known schedulers there is, and nothing on this page argues it is bad at its job. The question is a different one: what is actually stopping your feed. If you have a folder of finished posts and no system for getting them out on time, Later solves that for $25 a month and you can stop reading. If the folder is empty on the first of the month, a scheduler hands you back a very tidy empty calendar, and that is the problem this page is about.
Side by side
| Synthopia | Later | |
|---|---|---|
| What happens with an empty calendar | One brief composes the month: reel, stills, carousel and copy, already made | A clean grid, waiting for content you produce elsewhere |
| Where the visuals come from | Your own product photos, composed into finished campaign frames | You upload assets you made somewhere else |
| What the AI is for | Generating the campaign itself: the frames, the reel and every caption | Caption and idea assistance, metered as AI credits (5 on Starter, 50 on Growth, 100 on Scale) |
| Scheduling and publishing | Built in across your channels, from the same place the content was made | Their core product, and more mature than ours: queues, best-time posting, link in bio |
| Analytics and inbox | Results come back to your dashboard; deliberately light | Up to two years of history, plus a social inbox |
| Profiles covered | Per brand, with its own products, voice and calendar | 8 profiles on Starter up to 48 on Scale |
| Price | From AED 149 | $25 to $110 a month |

A scheduler assumes the content already exists
That assumption is the whole difference. Every feature in a scheduling tool sits downstream of a folder of finished posts: the queue, the calendar, the best-time-to-post logic. None of it helps you decide what this month says or gets a photograph of your product looking like a campaign. For a brand without a designer on payroll, that upstream gap is the reason the feed goes quiet in month three, and no amount of scheduling discipline closes it.
What Later's AI credits actually are
Later does ship AI, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. It is metered in credits, 5 a month on Starter and 100 on Scale, and it is aimed at captions, hashtags and ideas. That is useful. It is a different object from generating the campaign: the images are still yours to produce, and the credits run out long before a month of content does. The comparison is not AI versus no AI, it is which part of the job the AI is pointed at.
Where Later is simply better, and by a lot
Later has been doing this for years and it shows. The publishing stack is deeper than ours, the analytics go back two years where ours are deliberately light, there is a unified social inbox we do not have, and link in bio is a real product rather than a checkbox. It also covers up to 48 profiles on one plan. If those are the things you are buying, we are not the better tool and this page is not going to pretend we are.
The honest way to compare the price
Later is $25 on Starter, $50 on Growth and $110 on Scale. Synthopia starts at AED 149, which lands between their first two plans, so the honest framing is not that we are expensive, it is that we are a different object at a comparable price. The fair comparison is still against the stack a brand actually runs: the scheduler, plus whatever makes the images, plus whatever writes the copy, plus the hours spent carrying work between them. Set against a scheduler alone on its entry plan, Later is cheaper and better at scheduling, and always will be.
- You already produce your own content, or have a designer or photographer who does
- Budget is the binding constraint and $25 a month is the shape of the decision
- You need a unified social inbox, or analytics going back further than a season
- You manage many profiles, up to 48 on one plan, across brands or clients
- Link in bio is part of how you actually sell
- The empty calendar is the problem, not the posting
- You have product photos on your phone and no time to turn them into campaigns
- You want the month made, written for every channel and scheduled from one brief
- You would rather pay once for the whole job than assemble three tools and be the glue
- You want to judge the output before paying, which is what the free signup credits are for
Questions
Can Synthopia replace Later entirely?
For making and publishing, yes: scheduling across your channels is included, so most brands would not run both. If you depend on the social inbox or on long analytics history, keep Later for those and let Synthopia produce the content. They do not conflict.
Does Later make the content for me?
Not the visuals. Later has a media library and AI credits for captions and ideas, but the images and video you schedule are yours to supply. That is the line between a scheduler and a campaign engine.
Isn't Synthopia more expensive?
Less than you might expect: we start between Later's Starter and Growth plans, and under Scale. What you are weighing is not really price, it is whether the content problem or the scheduling problem is the one costing you more. If it is scheduling, Later is cheaper on Starter and better at the job. If it is content, a cheaper scheduler does not help.
Do I have to cancel Later to try this?
No. Signing up gives you free credits and needs no card, so you can build a campaign from your own photos, put it next to whatever you were about to schedule, and decide from the output.
